The Project
The Awareness-raising and capacity-building related to the implementation of the Guidelines for the Long-term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities (LTS Guidelines) is a project of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). The Project showcases how the LTS Guidelines of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS) can be implemented from a multi-stakeholder perspective in order to protect the Earth's limited orbital space environment and relevant space activities.
2024 Event Series
In 2024, UNOOSA has organized a new event series, with the aim to raise awareness and to build capacity in the context of the implementation of the LTS Guidelines.

Stakeholder Study Report
In the second phase of the Project, UNOOSA conducted a series of interviews with States and intergovernmental organizations focusing on their experiences in implementing the LTS Guidelines. The information gathered from the interviews is found in the Stakeholder Study Report. The report compiles and shares information on experiences implementing the LTS Guidelines, including challenges faced and potential capacity-building needs.
